Oh My Mariah
Just when you thought Pinterest made you look bad for not having the time and creativity to homemake your baby's food or make a milk necklace out of your own breast milk (no, really - Milk Necklace)...
According to Star Magazine and this website, "Star Magazine reports that the singer, and 'American Idol' judge Mariah Carey uses $1900 La Mer cream on her twins' - Monroe and Moroccan - bottoms. The magazine also says that she uses bottled water for their bubble baths."
This really puts the pressure on other moms out there to step up their ass cream regimen! Oh wait...No, no it doesn't. This just really puts pressure on Mariah Carey to out-ridiculous herself in the next story about her hygiene antics.
Oh, Mariah. Will wonders never cease?

Bathroom - Before and After
Get. Exc. Ited! I have a new before and after from my house. Nothing special really, just a bathroom. But it has made a major difference in the overall feeling of the room.
Where once it was a heinous shade of matte eggplant purple (why former owner? why?!)...
Vom, Vom, Eggplant Vom
It is now a "faux finish" blue and white striped happy place to be.
This was the first time I have had anything professionally painted and, can I just say, what I lost in money I gained in time spent with my husband not screaming at each other over who has to put up the painter's tape. Painting is a legit marriage ruiner. At least in my experience, which has consisting of piss-poor-paint-performance and every 4 letter word I know.
Thanks to some perfectly matching new monogrammed towels and a preppy new shower curtain my MIL gave me for Christmas, I am styling and profiling each time I get ready in the updated bathroom.
It's amazing what a little paint can do to spruce up a place! Where one I was bland and inexplicably purple, now I am bright and cheery.

Be Advised - No Mas Fajitas
In case you were planning on going to K38 on Oleander in Wilmington anytime soon, be advised: You will be devastated.
It's closing for renovations for 2 months and I could not be more displeased about it. I love it so.
Sure there are other locations in town, but none are as convenient. None know me as well (they don't know me at all). Plus I just need time to grieve.
I went last night for my last feast for at least 2 months. I almost cried in my black beans.
What will happen to the delightful waitstaff in this interim? Will I be invited to the grand re-opening? How many calories and dollars will I unwillingly save by not eating here at least once a week?
So many questions, so little fajitas. Temporary RIP K38. You will not soon be forgotten or replaced.

More Juice, Less Cash
Did you know that buying bulk can sometimes be astronomically more cost effective than buying a la carte. I'm not talking about Costco. That place is where spare change goes to die.
I'm talking about your run of the mill lemons and such.
Check out this big bag of lemons at the Harris Teeter everyday low price of $1.97. This basically means that if are buying anymore than two lemons (usually $0.69 a piece), than you will save money by buying a bag of 12. Sure, you might not use them all before they grow foreign matter on their skin, but you are saving money people!
Do you want to know the best part? Most of the time if you are buying more than 2 lemons at a time it's because you need lots of fresh lemon juice. Obvi. These lemons, because they are close to meeting their maker, are at their absolute juiciest state.
So to recap - the lemons are cheaper and the juice is ripe for the taking. Winner, winner, lemon chicken dinner.
Next we have onions. Same situation, minus the juice. If you are going to buy more than 2 onions for, say, an onion pie. Or if you plan on sauteing a lot of items for dinner this week, buy in bulk! For the everyday low price of $1.97 you get about 10 onions. That's like 20 cents per onion!
