Bathroom - Before and After

Get. Exc. Ited!  I have a new before and after from my house.  Nothing special really, just a bathroom.  But it has made a major difference in the overall feeling of the room.

Where once it was a heinous shade of matte eggplant purple (why former owner?  why?!)...

Vom, Vom, Eggplant Vom

It is now a "faux finish" blue and white striped happy place to be.

This was the first time I have had anything professionally painted and, can I just say, what I lost in money I gained in time spent with my husband not screaming at each other over who has to put up the painter's tape.  Painting is a legit marriage ruiner.  At least in my experience, which has consisting of piss-poor-paint-performance and every 4 letter word I know.

Thanks to some perfectly matching new monogrammed towels and a preppy new shower curtain my MIL gave me for Christmas, I am styling and profiling each time I get ready in the updated bathroom.

It's amazing what a little paint can do to spruce up a place!  Where one I was bland and inexplicably purple, now I am bright and cheery.

Steady as she goes

This guy is doing stucco work on my parents' house as we speak...standing on a bucket...that's resting on a work bench. Surely there's a safer way!?

The other guy who fixed the wall beneath the stucco earlier this week did some acrobatics of his own which I unfortunately didn't capture on film. He was standing on the railing of the balcony, holding a 30 foot piece of wood, with a cigarette dangling from his mouth.

I can't imagine how bad you could possibly want a cigarette at the point where you are willing to smoke one on what is essentially a balance beam 2 stories high . But instead of a padded mat below you, it's slate steps and concrete.

Oh, and of course no hard hats were worn. Safety is overrated!

Lego my ghetto Lego

Times really must be tough. Tougher than I thought in fact.

I know teachers aren't getting raises, building construction is being halted, and getting tenure is harder than it used to be, but my God, pony up for some real brick pavers UNC.

I can't say for sure whether this was the genius creation of the University facilities staff or just a craft college kid, but I can say with certainty that these are legos. Le-gos. As in the toy for little boys.

While I love a splash of color as much as the next gal, this is just too absurd. It reminds me of this masterful repair solution.

You know how they say, "If it ain't broke don't fix it?" Well let's also start saying, "If it is broke, don't fill it with legos."

Home Repairs Made Stupider

Christsluts light ;)
Just add bobby pins for a more sporty look!

When life throws you netted lighting, when you meant to buy a regular strand, plug those nets together and make it look like a set of boobs.

Then when you feel inappropriate in your own back yard due to said boobies, makes those boobs look like a sports bra and encourage girl power and physical fitness.
