I Smell Bacon

Well if this isn't the most unnecessary invention ever, I don't know what is.

It looks like bacon.  It smells like bacon.  And it tastes like bacon.  Allegedly.

No really...I don't know personally.

You know, because everyone loves bacon...?

This is too awkward to really comment on, knowing that a couple I like to call "Mom and Dad" read the ol' blog.  But read the article for yourself to find out more details.  If you dare.

I, myself, might be swearing off bacon for life, in the likely scenario that I can never get the word "baconlube" out of my head.

Butterfly Life

I used to go to an all women's gym in Chapel Hill.  I loved it.  Even now, I hate working out in front of guys so much that I take supplemental classes elsewhere just so I don't to bench press in front of a bunch of muscle bound 25 year old dudes.  Shit is embarrassing, yo.

I am woman, hear me roar cower with fear.

I loved that place in Chapel Hill.  It was called Ladies Fitness Center and it helped me maintain my freshman 15-20 for 4 whole years of college.  So I can get way down with a girls only gym.

Just not when it is named this:

Butterfly Life....

Sorry, I just threw up in my mouth a little.  Now I'm back.

I guess this is some sort of metaphor?  Like, once you were a pudgy caterpillar and now, for the competitive rate of $50 per month and a 6 year contract, you are a slightly less pudgy butterfly?

This is going to sound mean, but if are the type of person that enrolls in a gym called Butterfly Life in the middle of strip mall, you are also likely to be the type of person that will beeline left or right to go to Five Guys or Harris Teeter, respectively, which neighbor this establishment, instead of actually going to Butterfly Life.

I do not see this having a bright future.  I'd rather go to Gold's.

Whatever!

It seems interesting to me that someone who has such a non-opinion would take the time to buy this expressive piece of car art:

Money well spent.  For sure.

Gluten Bully

You know how the hot topics these days are:

-Bullying
-Eating Gluten Free

?

How about recognizing that Gluten is being bullied?  No one wants to eat it.  No one wants it in their crackers or their bread or their cereal or their cookies.

It's mean and, by definition, constitutes bullying: "One habitually cruel to others who are weaker".

Let's stand up for Gluten and end this bullying cycle!  Drink those beers.  Eat those cookies from the kiosk at the mall, and by God eat a foot long sandwich from Subway!

Down with bullying.  Up with carbo-loading in the name of a good case.

Buffalo Chicken Quinoa Bites

Last week I made these:

But they looked like this:

I love the smell of Frank's Hot sauce when it hits warm ingredients.  It's the smell of happiness and good things to come...like Ranch.

Tilt your head sideways for this guy.  Happy Face!

I used this recipe from SoVeryBlessed.com.  The only change I made was to omit the chicken, since I was serving these along side a chicken breast.

It was an interesting result.  I cannot say that I was in love with the texture/taste of the quinoa after having been cooked.  The ingredients together before I baked them were delicious, though.  I might make these again as a sort of quinoa chicken salad, instead of baked bites.

Just thought I'd share.  They make nifty little low cal snacks.  And, more importantly, they are a good way to use up some of the quinoa that you bought in a 5 pound quantity from Costco last year!

What is happening?

Yesterday was Easter.

Today is April Fools Day.

Is it also opposite day?  Because this is the opposite of a sale:
