Speaking of Lux Life...

We got a tax bill today for my husband's vehicle, which is an almost 20 year old pick up truck that somehow has cellulite above the tires, and the appraised value for the car was a whopping $400.00

While I'm happy for the low tax bill, I can't help but suddenly feel like I have hoopty in my drive way.

Dolla. Dolla. Bills. Y'all.

Brilliant Idea

I could have really used some chalk for my friend in the parking lot last week:

Park It

This is the car parked "next to me" in the parking lot at my office.

There had to have been some sort of grand mal seizure involved in this operation.  Unreal.  This has got to be the worst I've ever seen.

Not even a little bit jealous

"It's a Jeep Thing...You Wouldn't Understand"
Let me just go on record as saying I am SO okay with that.  But thanks for trying to make me jealous.

It happened again.

Well yesterday it took me to the end of the universe.  Otherwise known as a dead end.  Only it didn't think it was a dead end.  It thought it was a highway.

So you can imagine my surprise when, going around 50 mph, I am stopped dead in my tracks by red caution signs and an abrupt lack of pavement.

Maybe I need to start taking up donations or something.  Somehow I just can't convince myself it's worth it to spend almost $200 on a new GPS disk.  But after a close call with an accidental ferry ride and near collision with a very dead end, I'm becoming a little more open-minded.

If she tries to take me somewhere via air travel anytime soon, her reign as my virtual shepard will be in serious jeopardy.

Low Emissions, High Reactions

I drive a Hybrid. Did I already tell you that?

It's awesome for 2 reason:

1) Good for the environment (at least allegedly)

2) Awesome for people's reactions when you come to a complete stop and your car shuts off.

If I had a dollar for everything someone freaked out in the passenger side about my car shutting down, I'd have about 15 dollars.

"Ummm, I don't want to alarm you, but your car just died." Haha, no it didn't. I'm just Captain Planet in the flesh.

Last week I went thru the Chik Fil'a drive thru and got one of my best reactions yet. The woman behind the counter started handing me my Lemonade and then realized my car shut off.

*Dramatic Pause*

Her: "Oh shoot girl! Your car just died!"

Me: "Actually it just does that when I stop, it's a hybrid."

Her: "Well I got a car just like that and it don't do that."

Me: "They actually stopped making them a few years ago."

Her: "Yea...Because mine definitely don't do that."

Pure bliss - I get to save the planet and stoopify people everywhere I go. Truly a dream come true...Now, if I could just find that tater-tot I dropped under my seat that very same day.

Oh my

I was seriously taken aback today when I saw this on the road.

This driver either had a truly terrible experience with a bratty kid, or was just that upset with the season finale of Toddlers and Tiaras.

Either way, the message is coming through loud and clear!
...NOT a fan of bratty kids!

WOW

Legless Terrible

Sad. These little doo doo balls don't even have legs.

Maybe they are related to Head Detective from In Living Color?!

Either way, still terrible. I miss empty windshields.

Baby Beluga

Somebody got the spa treatment of her life yesterday. And it wasn't me.

I gave my car, Baby Beluga, a 90,000 tune up for her 6th Birthday and da-da-dayum that girl has expensive taste.

$721.53 later, this bitch better last me until 2030.

But she sure does look happy with her new break pads, fresh lubes of every kind, and the tighest alignment on the block.

It sure is pricey to to maintain one's looks, even if one is a car!
