Honey Boo Boo go bye bye

Last week was a sad time.  The season finale of TLC's "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" drew to an end.  And I lost a little piece of my heart.

I sure have grown to love that little spit fire Alana.

As I was watching the show I tried to take this picture to send to my friend:

This is Honey Boo Boo Child getting excited for the arrival of her niece.  That's a 7 year old Aunt, folks.

But I didn't hit the button in time the first time so I captured this instead, as the scene was slowly changing on the show:

Honey Boo Boo Child - My Muse, My Life

Pretty artsy right?  Kind of terrifying too, no?

This makes me want to be Honey Boo Boo for Halloween so bad.  But someone in my neighborhood already called it.  I'll just do like Honey Boo Boo do and drown my sorrows in cheese doodles.

*On a related note, Alana's niece that she was so excited about meeting has 3 thumbs.  Ever the optimist, Honey Boo Boo said she was jealous because more thumbs meant more fingers to grab cheese puffs with.  The jar of cheese is always half full for that girl!

Blue for Jesus

I was in Atlantic Beach last weekend for a beautiful wedding.  Before heading out to the ceremony Saturday morning, I watched a little TV.

WTF
I ran across a station on which a woman, in overalls, with a blue wig on, was translating a message about Jesus's love into sign language.

Now I totally get the general premise of this idea - Obviously people who are deaf should be able to watch TV too.  A basic right is a basic right.  I don't care who you are, you gotta watch TV!

But here's what I can't wrap my mind around.  Why must one wear a colored wig to translate?  Why would one ever wear denim overalls on Television?

And most puzzling, why is Jesus being portrayed as an Indian surfer who just happens to be wearing a burlap vest?

So many questions, so little sense.  And so much more of the color blue than is necessary.

Happy Monday

Today is a randomly amazing Monday.

I won a giveaway on one of my favorite blogs - marthametzler.com

I have a delicious pork tenderloin marinading at home waiting to be dined on tonight.

I didn't watch the season premiere of Homeland last night so I get to watch it tonight!

I decided that I was going to start answering the phone by saying, "Groove Is In the Heart!"

And then that decision reminded me of this episode from Will and Grace and I realized there will never be a better way to answer the phone than busting out a backwards somersault and "SuSuSudio".

Mondays really aren't so bad when have lots of random things going on.

Ice Cream Sundays - Key Lime Pie

This week's flavor is a Limited Batch, so go run and get one before they are off the shelves.  Go on...get!

KEY LIME PIE

This flavor is so refreshing and light that it almost tastes low-fat.  But it's not!  It's really, really not.  So don't be fooled.

The flavor of this ice cream was spot on - limey, but not too tart.  The pie crust pieces were chewy and delicious.  But my favorite part, by far, was the fluffy meringue swirl.  The best part about it was that you couldn't see it, since the swirl is the same color as the lime ice cream.  That meant that you were just munching along, minding your own business, and then BAM! - heavenly, marshmellowy, soft, sweet bite of meringue.

That's the kind of surprise a girl like me can get down with.  And by a girl like me I mean a girl who absolutely hates surprises and likes to plan everything out months in advance.  So that says a lot!

Summer may be over but the taste of summer lives on!

Spamers, be advised, if you are going to try to give me a virus through my personal email, at least title it something I'll at least kind of believe, like LOCAL ASIAN SINGLES!  I get that one a lot too.
