Bridesmaids

I finally saw Bridesmaids. It was awesome and very funny, as promised.

However, one thing that everyone failed to mention is that it's also very sad. Like, borderline Dramedy classification sad. The way Jon Hamm treated Kristen Wig's character made me so mad and sad. Guys like that definitely exist in real life. And no girl deserves that :(

Nonetheless, I loved it. And would gladly watch it again and again. I think Kristen Wig is so beautiful and talented and has awesome comedic timing. All the characters were great. With the exception of one scene. The one where the incredibly large, incredibly intense pseudo-lesbian bridesmaid takes a poop in the sink.

It turns out that the only sophisticated thing about me is that I really really really hate poop jokes. And poop scenes. Same with throw up. Can't watch it, can't hear about it, and can't even pretend to think it's funny.

Other than that though I basically have no class and I'm ok with it. Just don't tell me a joke about dookie.

Movie Review: Just Go With It

I hesitantly watched Just Go With It last night, with Adam Sandler, Brooklyn Decker, and Jennifer Aniston. I was hesitant because I loathe movies with a plot that revolves around easily avoidable chaos that is caused by one character’s pointless lie.

I could tell from the previews this movie was going to be just that. But I gave it a shot.

For the first hour, I was equal parts annoyed and entertained. But I swear I did not stop laughing the whole time. Even with a storyline that revolved around poop jokes, fake accents, and boob references, something about the dialogue in an Adam Sandler movie is, without fail, FU-NNY!

The last hour was pure pleasure, laughter, and happy endings. Just the way I like my Rom-Coms.

Adam Sandler is so charming in a role that finally does not have him mocking mentally challenged people. And Jennifer Aniston is spot on, hilarious, and beautiful. And Brooklyn Decker sure as shit ain’t going to win an Academy Award, but she’s cute and hot so who cares.

Rent this. If it doesn’t make you laugh out loud, I’ll personally reimburse you for the $1 Redbox fee.

PSA

I have been waiting for months for "Blue Valentine" to come out on DVD. I had visions of me watching the world's greatest love bloom, and then sobbing when it inevitably fell to pieces.

WRONG!!!

This movie was awful. It's sad, but not in a way that will afford you a good cry with a bottle glass of wine. It's more like watching intraveinous drug use or a gangbang on "The Wire". It just made me feel dirty.

The most frustrating part of this movie to me was that there was absolutely no point to it. I didn't learn a lesson about love or making a relationship work.

I pretty much just learned that if your dad is verbally abusive and you yourself are a monster slutbag, than life isn't going to be that grand. So in case you didn't already know that, save 2 hours of your life watching Blue Valentine and just trust me. It's true.
